the story so far

Bonjour — I’m Pascal, the undiscovered artist behind Dubocado, working from my little art studio in the South West of Scotland. I create hand‑made keepsake gifts: mural plaques, stitched artwork, personalised pieces, and small treasures that help your story being heard in a world that can often feel ever so loud.
My craft formation began in childhood, shaped by curiosity, heritage, and the quiet joy of making one‑off pieces that celebrate the uniqueness of a person’s story. Over the years, I’ve refined those early skills into a distinctive savoir‑faire. I rely upon my embroidery abilities next to modern mediums, antique tools, and occasionally recycled or repurposed materials. Every piece is made entirely by hand and designed to last.
Although born with a French heart, my soul was transformed the moment I first stepped under a Scottish sky. Something shifted. The mystery of the River Clyde, the colourful sky, and the magic of the landscape are my constant companions. They continue to guide my work today, reminding me that art can brighten a day, lift a spirit, or bring a moment of joy to someone who needs it.
My path until now has been a long one. I’ve lived with depression since my teens, and it took years to find work that finally felt like a true home. Creating by hand has become my way of slowing down, reconnecting with colours, and finding some kind of joy again — and I pour that same care into every order.
Dubocado is just me: designing, cutting, stitching, assembling, packing, and occasionally tinkering with my website. That’s why most of my work is available through a pre‑order listing and as this schedule works best for me all around. Each piece is made thoughtfully, one at a time.
When I create something, I think about the person it is for. I stitch with love, patience, and pour some good intentions while shaping a vision for your purchase, hoping it will bring a little brightness or some good luck when it reaches you or your loved one. I also love hearing the story behind each order — it’s one of my favourite parts of this work.
I don’t create to be rich or famous. For me, it is about maintaining a balanced life filled with meaningful work and small moments of delight. I feel very grateful to have found my place in this big wide world, and even luckier that you are now here, that we can make a wee connection full of love and fun and while helping me to keep on growing and healing one order at a time.
